Leaving Pennsylvania means leaving my wonderful, insightful, beautiful, challenging, adventurous friends behind.  Before leaving for Texas I was able to say good bye to many of my friends at the Mong's house.

Wish this picture wasn't blurry but I'm posting it anyway.

The following link is where I"m going to school.  It's a beautiful campus.  I doin't have any pictures so you can check it out for yourself if you'd like.

This is the 2nd wk of school and now I'm getting into quizzes... speeches and next wk we have an algebra text already...

I feel like life just moved on... funny how that happens!  I thought time would  s  l  o  w  down beings I'm moving to the south having believed that stereotype .  I haven't gotten board or ran out of things to do yet!

Give myself yet another month, once the newness wares off and I'm sure I'll be singing the blues and missing what I don't have anymore.
Praise God I am thankfully not alone as I burrow into the up coming wks and months of school, life and doing a training workshop soon.  God is always with me.  He may not take away any discomforts or stress as I work on homework, reading and building relationships.  One thing I rely on is God WILL be with me!

***the weather is sinking down into the 90's!!!  (Hey, that's cool & comfy here!)  And this morning it rained on this dry land!

“Each one of us can make a contribution.  Too frequently we think we have to do spectacular things.  Yet if we remember that the sea is actually made up of drops of water and each drop counts, each one of us can do our little bit where we are.  Those little bits can come together and almost overwhelm the world.”  Andrew Zuckerman

    A  Tree  Alone

    Time continues to weather trees
    Aging year by year
    Shots have sprouted and grew
Shots have dried up and died

    Standing tall amidst the field
No two trees are the same
    All ranging in various heights
Why is that one so much smaller?

The giver of life looks down from on high
    He grimaces from envy
    Wondering why so discontented?
He pains to see his creation so sad

    Rainbow promises paint the sky
    Seeking a higher height
    Learning to embrace the view
And hold it’s head up high

    And a Chapter Closes

    the journey is the reward.

    ~the book of Tao

Ok yes,Taoism is contrary to the bible and what I believe as a Christian, but this quote holds true and my bible teaches me to think on things that are true and so I must.

My journey has been rewarding today.  The people that I work with have made my journey rewarding this past year.  As I gave everyone there hug goodbye tears rolled down my cheeks.  That's when I realized that I am gonna miss my job.  But even more than that I'm gonna miss the people.

If I could add an amendment to Tao's verse it would be,

the journey is the reward.  "and the people make it much more rewarding"

    What's been happening

In May I went down to Texas to surprise Jason!....  and he was totally surprised!

^ That's him being surprised!  *grin*

    We had some good times.

Walking around in Waco.  They have a river walk which is really nice and beautiful.  The bridges are gorgeous!

Eating at a bar - A real redneck experience!

I was encouraged to take up or learn the skill of driving dirt bike...  Umm, needless to say what you see in the pic is as far as I got!

Played some put-put or mini golf.  Which ever you prefer to call it.

Jason was brave enough to ride the bull!!!  Go honey!

And last but not least of the Surprise wnkd, I have to post my man w/ his ride.

It was a fun wknd and I miss Jason pretty much of the time being back home in the far away state of Pennsylvania.  I'll have to see what I can do about that....

Recently my really good friend, Teresa came to Lanc for the wknd.  I had a really good time connecting w/ her in the country (she's from Philadelphia).  We roasted hot dogs around the fire ring in our back yard.  Good times.  Luv that girl!

And lastly or most recently... My littlest brother, yup, brother # 6 has just graduated from Hinkletown Mennonite School.  He is now moving on to Garden Spot High School.  Wow, he's growing up!  (Scary... i guess that means I'm getting old!)

    CONGRATULATIONS JARED!

Life is not about winning and losing, it's about loving and relationship.

    Dear Lord,

I've missed the purpose of my life.  It feels so much better to be the winner than the sacrificing lover.  Show me how to love and honor people even if it means losing in my eyes.  My way of life that I've masterly designed is failing and falling.  Show me how you would love those around me.

    Thank you for saving me

    ~Amen

Twas another Memorial Day in the days of our lives here in East Earl, Pa.  Every year we hear the sounds of the military band down by the church in our back yard.  So this year, Dad, Jevin, Mom and I decided to join the event.  Now we aren't really surporting the war or anything but we are remembering our troops who have giving their lives for our country.  (I hesitate to say our freedom that the soldiers have given their lives for due to our nations slipping liberties.)

Waking up, grabbing coffee and walking out our back yard to the Presbyterian Church in our community we joined the mixed aged group of locals who came out to recognize our troops.  We gather by the freshest grave of a widow.

Everyone gathered by the grave, there was short military prayer read,  The widow was recognized and placed flowers by the grave.  The speaker said that even though these flowers will wilt and blow away, his spirit and memories will remain forever.

"Ready, take aim, Fire!"  3 shots were fired.

A lone trumpet played a mournful solo.

The band played a last song.

And that was it.  Short and sweet ceremony.

I'm glad that I got to be a part of it.  I'm thankful that my community honors our local solders.

The journey makes us happy, not the  destination

The Halo Effect:   a phenomenon in which an initial understanding that a person has positive traits is used to infer other uniformly positive characteristics.

Self-serving bias:  the tendency to attribute personal success to personal factors (skill, ability, or effort) and to attribute failure to factors outside oneself.

Fundamental attribution error:  a tendency to over-attribute others' behavior to dispositional causes and the corresponding minimization of the importance of situational causes.

Hummm......I wonder if this guy views me w/ the halo effect?  If so then he's making the fundamental attribution error!
